Newsletter January 2016

Welcome to our January newsletter!

Christmas is a wonderful time of the year! Along with all the fun and excitement, it also gives people an opportunity to spend quality time with their loved ones and reminds us all that Christmas is a time for sharing love and happiness with others!

PAB Winter Seminar

The PAB Winter Seminar took place on November 28th  at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel Lincoln. The keynote speaker for this event was Tim Sutton from Growth Accelerator who delivered a succinct review of some of the challenges facing a growing business. Another of the highlights of this event was the thought-provoking, insightful and entertaining presentation about English history and culture given by Hylton Barnes. In addition, helping us to better understand Lithuanian culture, was Aiste Whitelaw.

The event was most successful and once more it brought all of us together for some team-building activities to help us better identify some of our strengths and weaknesses in a fun but professional environment.

Employee of the Quarter

Winner of the “Employee of the Quarter” award was our esteemed and long-serving colleague Agnieszka Zebracka.

Employee of the Year Award

This year’s winner of the PAB “Employee of the Year” award was Virga Stepanoviciene. Some of the comments made by the colleagues who endorsed her were “very friendly”, “loyal” and “demonstrated exemplary behaviour.”

National Christmas Jumper Day

This year preparations for Christmas started quite early and our team was busier than ever, becoming involved in some very worthy charity projects:  e.g. the “National Christmas Jumper Day” which took place on December 18th. We also supported Centrepoint Outreach, a Boston-based charity that helps those in the area who find themselves living in less than fortunate circumstances.

Fantastic Response to Winter Appeal!

Christmas has come early at PAB after staff brought in sackfuls of donations for local homeless charity Centrepoint Outreach.

Managing Director Iwona Lebiedowicz was overwhelmed by the fantastic response to her winter appeal: “At the beginning of December I asked the staff if they’d like to donate clothes, toys and books to help Boston's homeless have a Christmas to remember, not one to forget this year. I’m amazed how much we managed to collect – everyone has been so generous.”

Liz Hopkins, Centrepoint Outreach Chief Executive, also expressed her gratitude: “I would like to thank PAB for all the items they donated. We will give out some of the clothing to our clients who are in need and items such as toys will be sold in our charity shop which helps to raise funds for our work with homeless and vulnerable people.”

As well as bringing in donations for Centrepoint Outreach, staff also wore Christmas jumpers to work on Text Santa Christmas Jumper Day (Friday 18th December) to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, Make-A-Wish® UK and Save the Children.

Following the success of this year’s charity appeal Iwona said she’s hoping to do the same again next year.

Christmas dinner

As every year our team gathered together for Christmas dinner, this time at the White Hart Hotel.  Around the table conversation turned to all the goals achieved through the hard work and commitment of our strong and growing team.
